I am so excited for the new swim season to begin.  I have been asked to be the new swim team coach and am anxious to bring my club, high school, and college swimming skills and knowledge to the YMCA swimmers.  I started competitively swimming at the Edmond YMCA and finished at the college level and I attribute my love of the sport t0 my start at the YMCA.  I owe so much to the YMCA and want to give back to their swim team program.

Practice and try outs will begin on Monday, April 4, from 4-5pm.  We will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays to start off the season. I am looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks and hopefully many more new faces.  If you know of any new potential swim team members who would like to be included in the beginning of a new exciting season please bring them along for the try outs.

The Ribbons for State will be handed out at the Swim Team Party this Friday the 18th.

Time: 8-11:59pm.

We will have pizza and ribbons for swimmers at 8:15 and the rest of the night a time to hang out with teammates and all three coaches and play in the gyms, pool, and have snacks.

Right now we only have a couple people signed up to help with state. I can’t have these people do everything. Please I need more help. The more we can get the shorter you will be there. We need award table helpers and timers. Let me Know ASPA 425 314-6113 or  at practice.

I still need volunteers!!!

We need timers we are in lane 4, right in the middle of the action, and a 2-5 volunteers to work the Awards table. At the awards table you would be placing stickers on ribbons or medals and sorting them to each team.
The more volunteers we have the less time you will have to work! Please we need your help!

This week is sign ups for Rose State Swim meet Saturday January 29th.
Please, if you have not been to two meets and are still planning on attending State you NEED to be at this meet. Please contact me if you are unsure if you have attended enough meets.

There was some controversy for a while, but it is now official that State is Feb. 12th. PLEASE tell me (BY Email) or sign up out side the girls locker room if you would like to attend.
Sign ups will end January 29th at 11:59 am. The sooner the better.
At this point swimmers will not get ribbons at state, but the ribbons will be sent to me later.

The winter state meet date has to be changed due to the closing of OCCC on March 12 for construction. The only other date available is February 12th.

PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON ATTENDING STATE BY FRIDAY! THERE WILL BE A SIGN UP SHEET OUTSDE THE GIRILS LOCKERROOM, PLEASE PRINT YOUR SWIMMERS NAME.

Swimmers only have to attend 2 meets in winter season instead of 3 to qualify for state.

I will open sign ups for our home meet this weekend January 15th from: Wednesday 12, through Thursday 13th till 6pm.

Please only sign up if you need meets because other swimmers are scrambling for meets and meets will be more full then normal and we would like to try to keep meets running quickly.

If you really need more meets there is a meet available:
Kingfisher January 22nd, 2011: You might be able to go to if you let me know by Monday January 17th, 2011.
Duncan- February 5th: You might be able to go if you let me know by Monday January 31st

Depending on number of swimmers who need a meet we will have a meet at our pool with only our swimmers being timed. This will be an official meet. Swimmers will sign up for the meet and ALL SWIMMERS WILL ATTEND BOTH PRACTICES IN ORDER TO SWIM. THIS MEET WILL BE DURING PRACTICE!!!
